1. Paul’s Cathedral

With an excellent location on Ludgate Hill, the highest point in the city, St. Paul’s Cathedral is one of the most popular and iconic churches in London, England. Founded in AD 604, this place is the main church of the Bishop of London and the Diocese of London. This 111-meter-high white marble structure draws every visitor to its high dome, carved walls, beautiful frescoes, wood pieces and breath. Also, the gold gallery at the top features jaw-dropping views of the city of London. St Paul’s Cathedral is also known for hosting live music and events in London, Easter and Christmas.

2. Southwark Cathedral

Southwark Cathedral, also known as St Savior and St Mary Overie Cathedral and the College Church, is located on the south bank of the River Thames and is considered an important landmark of the city. Founded in 1897, this cathedral is the seat of the Southwark Anglican Diocese and has been in service for nearly 1000 years. Overlooking London Bridge, Southwark Cathedral displays its beautiful Gothic architecture. The monument in the south aisle was raised in 1912 in the fond memory of William Shakespeare. One of London’s most famous churches, it has its own choir, which performs on the 4th Sunday of every month.

3. Mary Abbots Church

Hosting daily morning, evening, and night prayers, St. Mary Abbots Church is another wonder sight in London. Designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott in 1872, St. Mary Abbots Church is one of the famous London churches showcasing a beautiful fusion of neo-Gothic and early British models. If you want to witness beautiful architecture and sculpture work, you should definitely visit it.

4. Temple Church

This church belongs to the Inner and Middle Temple, two of England’s ancient lawyer communities. Located in the heart of the city, between the River Thames and Flee Street, the Temple Church dates back to the 12th century. 5. St. Leonard’s Church

Close to the confluence of Shoreditch High Street and the Hackney neighborhood, St. Leonard’s Church is another name in the league of London’s must-see churches. Built by the famous architect George Dance of the Elders in 1720, this church is a must-see during your London city tour. Leonard’s Church is famous for hosting large bells, tall dome, engraved pillars and music concerts, and all kinds of church services.

7. Westminster Cathedral

There are many beautiful churches in London and Westminster Cathedral is definitely one of them. Located near Victoria Station, this area is the main church of Roman Catholics in England and Wales. The exterior is made of red and white brick and showcases neo-Byzantine-style architecture, while the interior design made from 120 different types of marble is equally fascinating. It is one of the most popular Catholic churches in London and offers more than 40 Holy Masses per week.

8. St Pancras Old Church

Located directly opposite the King’s Cross, the Old Church of St Pancras is one of London’s oldest churches, whose origins can be traced as early as the days of the Norman conquest. The place is calm, calming and offers regular collective services on Mondays, Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. What’s more, this church also hosts live music shows and interactive sessions for visitors. Since it is located next to an important landmark, it would be a shame to avoid visiting it.

Formerly known as the City Road Chapel, this method is a Methodist church built by John Wesley, who pioneered the Methodist movement.
