Since you are under anesthesia during the operation, you will not feel pain during the operation. All patients are given pain medication for the first few days. Although the pain is usually not severe enough to require painkillers, there may be some people who prefer to use a stronger painkiller on the first night, although it is rare. The most common complaint is difficulty in breathing through the nose on the night of surgery. But you don’t have to worry. Because when you remove the nasal bandages you put on the first night the next day, you will start to breathe more easily.
If you have a significant deformity in the nose and correcting it will make you more comfortable, harmonious and safe, you may be a suitable candidate for rhinoplasty.
- If the nose is too big or small
- If the nose is low or sunken
- If the front of the nose is wide
- If the curvature is outside or inside
- If there is asymmetry on both sides of the nose
- There is a problem in the nose nostril
- If the tip of the nose is very active when talking or laughing
- If you have respiratory problems, you are a candidate for surgery.
If the cause of nasal congestion is a deviation in the septum cartilage, correcting this curvature with rhinoplasty also eliminates breathing problems.
In order to perform rhinoplasty, the bone, cartilage and skin tissues of the nose must be fully developed. For this reason, anyone over the age of 18 is suitable for Rhinoplasty surgery.
Every surgical operation has the risk and potential for complications. It is the surgeon’s job to anticipate these and inform you. While excessive bleeding after rhinoplasty is extremely rare, if this occurs, it will happen within a few hours immediately after the operation. In this case, the person should not worry, he should report the situation to his doctor immediately. The only way to prevent this risk is to receive treatment by a specialist and reliable doctor.
You can breathe comfortably thanks to the thin silicone layer placed on your nose immediately after the surgery. We advise our patients not to blow their noses for one week after surgery. After the first week, you can start cleaning your nose by rinsing it with salt water and gently blowing your nose. Thus, you can clean the crusts formed inside in the future and breathe more easily.
Every cut on the skin leaves a scar. When the word “surgical scar” is mentioned, big, ugly stitches come to mind. However, it is very difficult to see with the naked eye since the incisions and stitches opened during aesthetic nose surgery are made much more controlled. In open rhinoplasty, a small suture scar remains at the root of the nose. Since the incisions are already inside the nose in endonasal or closed surgeries, all traces remain inside the nose. If there is a situation that requires open surgery, our patients are informed in advance.
